These drop earrings are made from veined quartz found in the Big Thompson Canyon, Estes Park, CO.  They are part of our Colorado Collection and Simplicity Collection due to the minimalist setting.  The only metal is silver for the bale and the chain.  The back shows the beautiful semi- translucent stone.  

Quartz is 7 on the Mohs hardness scale and is durable and strong.  Cleaning should be with mild detergent and warm water.  Never use acid as it will damage the stone.

Quartz has been prized since antiquity for its beauty and strength and used in both jewelry and carvings. 

Industrially it is currently used in glass making, watches, electronics and countertops.  It is the most expensive countertop material on the market. 

The stone cutting and the silversmithing was done by Jewelry Artist of Estes Park, CO.  The stone was made by the God of Creation.
