This necklace is from Veined Quartz found in the Big Thompson Canyon, Estes Park, CO.  It is a Simplicity and Colorado Collection piece.  It's Simplicity due to minimalist setting with sterling only at the bale.  The back shows the stone, which is semi translucent with the beautiful orange vein running through it.   There is matching earrings available for separate purchase as the supply lasts. 

This beautiful quartz is 7 on the Mohs hardness scale and is durable and strong.  Cleaning should be with mild detergent and warm water.  Never use acid as it will damage the stone.

Quartz has been prized since antiquity for its beauty and strength and used in both jewelry and carvings. 

Industrially it is currently used in glass making, watches, electronics and countertops.  It is the most expensive countertop material on the market.
