Norway is rich in Thulite which is well represented in this necklace.  The pink is beautiful with lighter and darker areas throughout the stone.  It is set in stamped sterling silver and comes with a sterling chain.  It is 1.25 " wide and 1" long.  

Thulite is a rare beautiful pink mineral only found in Norway.  It is related to Tanzanite and was originally found in Telemark, Norway in 1820.  It is used to make jewelry and ornamental objects. 

This thulite is from the Trondheim, Norway area and mined by hand by Housen Rock Treasures.  We purchased the rough stone at the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show and learned about this beautiful, rare gem there.  It would be amazing to see the digging of this as the pink rock is revealed. 

The rock was created by the God of Creation and hidden in the Norwegian ground.  The lapidary and silversmithing was done by Jewelry Artist Mark Nelson, of Estes Park, CO.
